In light of various qualitative-empirical approaches to teaching and a currently insufficient mutual reception of their attempts to define the subject of teaching, this volume aims to highlight the commonalities and differences among the perspectives. The authors interpret or reconstruct the same transcribed lesson from their respective research perspectives and theorize it in the context of their research experiences. This is intended to bring forth the contributions of the gathered approaches to answering the question "What is teaching?".
