The future of parliamentarism, particularly of state parliaments, is a topic that is currently being widely discussed both politically and academically. This book engages with these debates and advances them constructively, especially through the example of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament. It examines the working structures, parliamentary sociological aspects, and the performance of state parliaments. Based on this analysis, the central challenges that state parliaments will face in the future are identified, and proposals are developed to address these challenges constructively.
