In recent years, there has been an increased interest in things from various perspectives: epistemic things, eloquent things, written things, and fetishized things have emerged as co-actors in the horizon of cultural studies research. The unique materiality and form of each object attract us. They present themselves to our feelings as embodiments, not only giving material shape to our projections but also, as affective things, can even take possession of us, becoming important components of our self-descriptions and self-presentations.
