Product details
C. F. Meyer (1825-1898) was one of the most significant Swiss poets of realism. He achieved breakthrough success as a writer only after the age of 45 with the epic poem "Hutten's Last Days" (1871). The novella "The Amulet" (1873) and the novel "Jürg Jenatsch" (1876) brought him initial success as a storyteller. In the 1880s, Meyer became a bestselling author with his historical novellas. Hans Zeller (1926-2014) was a professor of modern German literature, an editor, and the publisher of C. F. Meyer's poems within the historically-critical complete edition.
