Memories of a French resistance fighter about his imprisonment in Wolfenbüttel. The Frenchman Jean-Luc Bellanger joined a resistance group as a teenager. However, in 1942 he was denounced, sentenced to ten years in prison for "aiding the enemy," and taken from France to the penal and execution prison in Wolfenbüttel at the age of 17. There, through various work assignments, including in the library and the hospital, he gained insight into many aspects of prison life and also made contacts with members of other resistance groups. He was particularly aware that numerous resistance fighters were executed as "NN prisoners" ("Night and Fog"). After the liberation of Wolfenbüttel by American troops on April 11, 1945, Bellanger returned to France in May.
