From Jurek Becker's "Jakob the Liar" to Art Spiegelman's "Maus": Important texts of Holocaust literature reexamined. Since the beginning of the Nazi persecution policy, this has been and continues to be processed literarily. In exile, in camps and ghettos, as well as in the free world, people wrote about the Holocaust. Even today, over 70 years after the war, it remains an important theme in contemporary literature. The engagement with Holocaust literature plays an increasingly significant role, as there are only a few eyewitnesses left who can share their experiences. Sascha Feuchert and Markus Roth have invited renowned authors to write about central texts of Holocaust literature. The book offers very personal perspectives on the works of various writers, insights into forgotten or overlooked texts, and it recalls some "classics" of Holocaust literature.
