Despite the worldwide success of Steven Spielberg's film "Schindler's List" and the general interest in the history of Jews in Krakow, relatively little is still known about the lives and daily experiences of the persecuted individuals themselves. Andrea Löw and Markus Roth provide a detailed account for the first time of the history and stories of the people from one of the largest ghettos in Poland. Based on numerous diaries, memoirs, and documents, they create a scientifically grounded and vivid picture of Jewish life in the capital of occupied Poland.
