Product details
The genesis and significance of the insight that sciences are not constitutively shaped by supposed factual connections is the subject of this volume. Max Weber formulated this idea paradigmatically for the cultural sciences in 1904: "It is not the 'factual' connections of 'things' that underlie the fields of science, but the conceptual connections of problems." Based on this historical and epistemological premise, the conditions of emergence of 'problem history' are examined within the framework of cultural-critical claims. Furthermore, the philosophical-historical origins of the concept of 'problem history' and its development in the context of Neo-Kantianism are discussed, and a classic problem in the genesis of the sociology of knowledge is traced with the notion of 'perspectivity.' The quantum physical and logical circumstances are also considered.
