Product details
Field Marshal Walther von Brauchitsch was directly involved as the Commander-in-Chief of the Army in the violent expansion of the Third Reich and the German wars of aggression. However, it is all the more astonishing that, unlike the commanders Göring and Raeder, he has not been adequately addressed or has only been partially covered in historical research. The circumstances of his appointment to the top of the Army and his actions at the intersection of the Army and Hitler remain shrouded in obscurity or are shaped by rumors and speculation. This work not only examines the existing representations and analyses of his role in the Third Reich and World War II but also attempts for the first time to shed light on the private and family background of this officer.
