The Bregenzerwald is a true hiking paradise - gentle pre-Alpine hills in the Vorderwald, mountain peaks above the 2000-meter mark in the Hinterwald, and trails in the valley invite you to explore one of the most beautiful landscapes and culinary regions of Austria on foot. The Bregenzerwald is not only known for its idyllic, harmonious landscape with picturesque villages but also offers authentic traditions, a rich cultural scene, and culinary highlights. The KäseStrasse and the Schubertiade, for example, attract numerous visitors to the region every year. This hiking guide presents 33 themed hikes, almost all of which are circular routes: cultural paths, historical paths, legend paths, alpine paths, nature trails, family paths, water paths, and summit paths. Additionally, five long-distance hiking routes ranging from two to four days are described.
