The northernmost low mountain range in the country, with its diverse landscapes and relief, is perfectly suited for hiking tours throughout the year and fascinates with a wealth of specialties. Here, you will encounter the wild and romantic Bodetal, the largest rock valley north of the Alps, the highest peak in northern Germany and the only mountain over a thousand meters in the Harz, the Brocken, as well as the phenomenon of the enchanted worlds of the stalactite caves. Ever-present alongside the numerous, partly fjord-like reservoirs with their expansive views are also the exciting remnants of the region's thousand-year mining history.
