Warbreaker is the story of two sisters who happen to be princesses, the God King whom one of them must marry, a lesser god, and an immortal trying to undo the mistakes he made hundreds of years ago. Their world is one where those who die in glory return as gods to live in a pantheon in the capital, Hallandren. It is a world transformed by biochromatic magic, a power based on an essence known as Breath. Using magic is laborious: Breath can only be collected in units from individual people. Yet the rewards are great: by using Breath and harnessing the colors in everyday objects, all sorts of wonders and tricks can be accomplished.
