Since his childhood, Salvatore Caruso has known what it means to be "different": he suffers from the rare nerve disease myoclonus. He is repeatedly shaken by uncoordinated, jerky movements. Thoughts of suicide and alcohol consumption have marked his outsider existence. Today, Salvatore leads a normal life and encourages others with his positive attitude. There are about 5,000 rare diseases that are hardly recognized in public. Salvatore gives them a face in his conversation with Markus Lobis.
