For Thomas Brasch (1945-2001), love is an attitude that refuses any form of definition. An attitude that exposes its dreams to reality, both fearing and yearning for them, and always places the possible within the horizon of the impossible. Brasch's poetic passion hopes and despairs, trusts and deceives, praises and destroys. And it teaches: When, to whom, and how does one write an erotic poem? This volume includes poems that Brasch published independently during his lifetime, alongside literary legacies. Texts from his early years ("Anna, komm ...") are represented, as well as works from later periods, including a group of Brunke poems created in the 1990s.
