Product details

Act 8. Comedy. Viola has been separated from her brother Sebastian due to a shipwreck and washes ashore in Illyria. Here, she decides to disguise herself as a page and serve Duke Orsino under the name Cesario. The Duke takes a liking to the young nobleman and sends him as a messenger to Olivia, whom he adores with the melancholy of an unhappy lover. Viola, who has fallen in love with the Duke, suffers from these errands. To her delight, Olivia rejects Orsino's advances, as she has sworn to mourn her deceased brother for seven years. However, she falls in love with the supposed young man Cesario. This leads to tumultuous complications, further intensified by the appearance of Sebastian, who was also rescued from the shipwreck, as he bears an uncanny resemblance to Viola. While Cesario has previously been horrified by Countess Olivia's advances, Sebastian is willing to accept them.
