Where social conditions seem unchangeable and alternatives for perceiving social reality are hardly articulable, the engagement with the topic of critique aims to open up spaces for action. But what exactly is critique? The philosophical question regarding the conditions for the possibility of critique and its significance for the observation of reality initially appears very abstract for social work. The contributions in this volume demonstrate how critique can be formulated from various theoretical and interdisciplinary perspectives and what meanings this unfolds for social work.
