What can individuals do against violence? This question is repeatedly asked, and several organizations have already been established on this topic that have developed methods for violence prevention. The initiative MEN4PEACE addresses the connections between certain ideals of masculinity and violence and aims to encourage every man to advocate for a peaceful masculinity: among his friends, in his family, in his profession, and in society at large. Peace research and parts of the peace movement have also become aware of the importance of a gender focus for their subject through this book.
