Product details
In this volume of the series "Small Biographies Bauhaus," Alexander Graeff describes Wassily Kandinsky's time in Weimar, which began in 1922 following Walter Gropius' call to the Bauhaus and ended with the relocation of the art school to Dessau in 1925. Despite the short duration compared to other stages of his life, the time in Weimar was a highly creative and inspiring phase. Kandinsky worked tirelessly as a painter, graphic artist, and educator between 1922 and 1925. These activities are unimaginable without the lively exchange with his colleagues and friends at the Bauhaus. Among his closest friends were Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger, and Alexej von Jawlensky. Additionally, the collegial relationships with Walter Gropius and Johannes Itten are noteworthy. This book deals not only with a very productive period of artistic work but also with other aspects of his time.
