Whether in kindergarten groups or school classes – wherever children are cared for and taught together today, we find a mix of language skills. It is the responsibility of educational institutions to make the best use of this situation and to familiarize all children and adolescents, regardless of the circumstances of their origin and life situation, with the language skills necessary for educational success as effectively as possible. The aim of this document is to illustrate how to make the best of the different linguistic educational prerequisites. This also includes recognizing and valuing the language skills of children and adolescents. Children and adolescents with a migration background, who in most cases live in two or more languages, bring a special potential to the learning groups.
