The management of diversity is one of the fundamental professional competencies for both aspiring and currently active teachers. Although this perspective is now largely shared in both academia and practice, there are still insufficient answers and concepts addressing the associated theoretical and practical challenges. This volume, incorporating international perspectives, explores the various facets of diversity in research and practice. The focus of the contributions is intentionally broad: in addition to linguistic diversity, issues of migration-related diversity are addressed, as well as the challenges of inclusion in schools. Topics that have previously been more marginal, such as sexual diversity, are also presented. The aim of the volume is to discuss diversity as a constant factor in educational teaching and learning.
