The first Austrian Congress on Psychomotorics at the University of Vienna focused on efficient learning. This represents a specification of holistic learning, which can be referred to as the Viennese School of Psychomotorics and is documented in the present congress proceedings. Movement is seen as a driving force for physical and mental development. For example, to conceptualize aspects such as speed, balance, or gravity, it is helpful to experience them through movement and perception actions. Learners should be engaged with all their senses and be able to incorporate their interests into the learning process. Intrinsic motivation, meaning motivation that comes from within, as well as human curiosity, play a crucial role in this. Personal ideas are also part of this process.
