Schools have the task, among other things, of promoting gender equality and eliminating existing disadvantages. Gender-sensitive education and upbringing is, in this context, a cross-cutting theme across all levels of school development and thus part of the curriculum, extracurricular offerings, or personnel development. This collection includes both scientific and practice-oriented contributions that address various perspectives. The foundations include a definition of gender-sensitive education, possible approaches to pedagogical engagement with gender, and the question of the significance of a teacher's gender.
