This practice-oriented volume focuses on more recent literature from the year 2010 onwards that is suitable for use in German lessons at the lower secondary level. Based on the reference framework for literature (LIFT 2), which provides guidance for the (further) development of student competencies in relation to literary learning, various books from contemporary children's and youth literature are presented. To provide suggestions for competency-promoting literature lessons with these readings, tasks developed by teachers, which have been tested in practice and are ready to use, are included. Didactic commentaries, methodological tips, and a proposal for performance assessment for all readings complement the material. Solution guidelines are available online.
