Through the German didactic work in the project Ganz In, teachers receive suggestions for effective materials for the design of additional subject-specific teaching time, providing support for the development of German language instruction. This volume primarily demonstrates how students should be supported in working on curriculum-based content in the areas of reading and writing. In the domain of writing, tested concepts, both general and specifically for all-day school settings, have been rather scarce; therefore, this area is prominently represented here. Suggestions are made for the use of coherence-building means and for promoting revision skills. In the area of reading, the focus is on enhancing reading fluency and the ability to flexibly apply reading strategies.
