In study or examination regulations, it is usually stated that the goal of the degree program is to enable graduates to engage in scientific work in their respective field. However, first-year students often only have assumptions about what this means – they are still in the process of learning it. This introductory and practice book aims to contribute to this by providing information on the rules and procedures of scientific work. It is particularly aimed at students in educational programs. The active acquisition of this knowledge about scientific work is supported by numerous exercises. Suggested solutions to the exercises also allow for self-assessment of one's own learning process.
