An increasing number of children and adolescents of school age are coming to Germany due to war and economic crises. Municipalities face the challenge of integrating and supporting them in the school system as quickly as possible. Teachers are expected to respond professionally to the linguistic and cultural diversity of their students. In addition to the challenge of dealing with the children's and adolescents' lack of German language skills, many educators feel uncertain about how to address the experiences of war and flight, as well as the burdensome legal and asylum situation, in their teaching. The anthology edited by Verena Cornely Harboe, Mirka Mainzer-Murrenhoff, and Lena Heine aims to provide support to educators in the field of teacher training and professional development through an interdisciplinary approach.
