Product details

Most children enjoy drawing and painting. However, around the age of nine, there is a noticeable decline in interest in these activities for almost all children, often leading to a complete cessation of any voluntary drawing activities. The reasons for this shift include a move towards other activities and an increasing dissatisfaction with their own drawing skills, which may not allow for the execution of more complex representations. From a developmental psychology perspective, both artistically gifted and less gifted elementary school students are examined in terms of their self-image concerning this growing loss of interest. It appears that talent, or the perception of it, serves as a protective factor against this decline in interest.
