After six years of research and development work within the framework of the BMBF-funded project "Occupationally Integrated Study Programs for Further Qualification in the Social and Health Sector (BEST WSG)," the University of Applied Sciences of Diakonie in Bielefeld presents its findings. The focus is on the integration of vocational and academic education through strategic partnerships between universities, continuing education providers, technical schools, and social enterprises. This includes issues related to university admission qualifications, the recognition of competencies acquired outside of higher education, collaborations with other educational institutions, and the incorporation of social and nursing practice. The contributions in this collected volume highlight the research and development results of the project as well as their implementation and sustainability. The ideas and concepts developed offer valuable insights.
