Changing the world requires insights that challenge the prevailing conditions. These insights are not easily obtained, especially since they must be wrested from the prevailing hegemony and our own entanglements. What began with the feminist-socialist movement in the 1970s continues today. Aware of this tradition, we focus on a new beginning in globalized capitalism under crisis-driven conditions. The feminist reconstruction of Marxism is the reclamation of a socialist perspective; it is developed through a different appropriation of the world, alternative terminology, and theoretical effort. This volume documents the new beginning and aims to provide an impression of the state of the debate – as a project in progress.
