Product details
The present book outlines the development of feature films with lesbian content from 1930 to 2005. It explains the basics of homosexuality and focuses particularly on the representation of female homosexuality and lesbian love in German and German-speaking feature films, as well as in co-productions. In selecting the films discussed, it was important that the affection, erotic attraction, or love between two women is evident. Additionally, it demonstrates that the apparent invisibility of female homosexuality in reality is made visible through film, which serves as an important medium to address and discuss such taboo topics. The alphabetically organized and annotated filmography includes film descriptions that aid in better understanding the preceding content.
