Product details
Joseph Brodsky, born in 1940 in Leningrad, was stripped of his citizenship in 1972 after a trial for "parasitism" and five years of forced labor. With the help of the poet W. H. Auden, he emigrated to the USA, where he lived until his death in 1996. In 1987, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. In 2006, Hanser Verlag published "Letter to the Oasis," a comprehensive and representative selection of Brodsky's poetic work.
