This book was created as part of the model project for training and continuing education for industrial employment security in Berlin, conducted by Wert.Arbeit GmbH, Berlin, on behalf of the Senate Department for Integration, Labor, and Social Affairs of the state. The book aims to make the project results accessible to a broad (professional) public in a concise manner, as well as to highlight the state of the vital discussion on qualification policy in the city. In this regard, the book consolidates reports of experience, strategic consequences, and political assessments from actors in businesses, industries, social partners, and consulting. It particularly focuses on the topics of unskilled and semi-skilled workers in companies, the establishment of a culture of continuing education, and the design of framework conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises.
