The textbook "Worldviews and World Order," which has been completely revised for its fifth edition by Gert Krell and Peter Schlotter, addresses central theories in the field of International Relations (IR): Realism, Liberalism, Institutionalism, Marxism, Feminism, Constructivism, and - as a unique feature - political-psychological theories. It begins with four chapters on the fundamental prerequisites for understanding International Relations, including topics such as globalization, modernity, capitalism, states or nations, and international law. In the concluding chapter, Krell and Schlotter advocate for a theory of International Relations that takes seriously the claim to explain global processes while incorporating perspectives from other world regions. The authors increasingly draw on historical and sociological studies in addition to the specialized literature in the narrower sense.
