Surviving / adapting to a form / not surviving. The publication of a new poetry collection by Stefan Döring is a rare event. Thirteen years after the last book, the collection "Wenn Welt" is being released on the occasion of the 70th birthday of this poet from the Prenzlauer Berg connection. It examines, in a minimalist and formally rigorous manner, how one might speak about the world. "Wenn Welt." For even the title of the book immediately calls its emergence into question. Will "Wenn Welt" truly enter the world? Döring's verses resist participating in a eloquent communication breakdown. Their grammatical speaking and writing exercises aim to clarify how one could speak, beyond mere functionality. For "the better everything functions, the less succeeds; the more conveniently everything is at hand, the more uncomfortable it becomes; the more widespread the game, the more serious the situation." These poems do not merely present logical fallacies, language games, iterations, and permutations for their own sake. In their sequences of words and sentences, the prevailing consensus of what is called the present is scrutinized, illuminated, condensed, and annihilated: "We constantly talk into the wall, as if the wall had an ear for us...".
