This voice was missing in the racism debate

The refugee crisis has rekindled fears and concerns in Germany about "over-foreignization." At the same time, debates about political correctness and racism are becoming increasingly heated. The COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences—global recession, rising poverty, wars, and displacement—threaten to exacerbate conflicts further. How can we sensibly address these concerns? Asfa-Wossen Asserate is convinced that the key to good coexistence is the willingness to approach one another. Integration is a process; it cannot happen without demands—especially for those who do not wish to integrate.
