Not ADHD and depression are the biggest mental health issues in children, but rather anxiety and anxiety disorders. However, fears are an integral part of every stage of childhood development, and children should learn how to best cope with them. The author, experienced child and adolescent therapist Christian Lüdke, offers children, parents, and educators a way to navigate this journey together. Some of the fears are quite typical for any childhood—fear of the dark, jealousy towards siblings, fear of illness. Many fears, however, are new for both children and parents, making them particularly challenging, such as the fear of terrorist attacks or cyberbullying.
