The management of employees has always been a topic of human civilization: from the ancient writings of Seneca to the rules of Saint Benedict of Nursia, and up to current management literature. In modern times, the phenomenon of leadership resembles a pendulum swing, with its extremes symbolized by economy and humanity. Either the personnel were adapted to the organizational conditions (for example, Scientific Management), or the organization was adjusted to meet the needs of the employees (for example, the Human Relations movement). Employee management is always purpose-driven, and the two mentioned perspectives represent its goal dimensions. While the economic aspect pursues institutional and economic objectives, the human aspect focuses on satisfying individual and social needs. The human perspective holds crucial significance.
