This themed issue of "Forscherzeit" for science education provides children with the space and time to discover and explore the meadow habitat in a hands-on, independent, and experimental way that suits their level and needs. They can discover the biodiversity in their immediate surroundings, get to know typical animals and plants in the layers of the meadow, acquire and deepen their knowledge of species, understand how living beings adapt to the meadow habitat, and recognize the connections between habitats and living conditions for animals, plants, and humans. While working on the topic of the meadow, children learn about basic biological principles and practice fundamental biological methods.
