Now for grades 1 - 4! Karibu is a program that engages every child and welcomes them to participate. The Karibu primer supports the systematic development of word structure through a gradual letter progression and consistent syllable division. The Karibu language workbooks combine the functions of a language book and a practice workbook. The syllable work (echo strategy) from grade 1 is built upon and supplemented with additional strategies: for example, continuing the rhythm, deriving, word components, and capitalization. Each chapter in the Karibu reading books includes a progression to allow for optimal differentiation even within the thematic chapters. With the reading books and the corresponding cards, children can work on reading texts individually.
