Universities, universities of applied sciences, and tertiary vocational education are currently facing extensive processes of internationalization. The contributions in this volume discuss these developments in relation to current theoretical perspectives and empirically grounded findings from gender, migration, and educational research. The focus is on the patterns and trends of segregation that can be found in different types of higher education institutions, disciplines, or vocational training programs, as well as on country-specific and regional differences in training conditions. In addition to the gender- and migration-related strategies of students, the significance of institutional and organizational prerequisites in the tertiary vocational and university of applied sciences sector for different educational opportunities is also highlighted.
