Product details

The demand for economic democracy was an initiative of the labor and trade union movement in the 1920s. In the Federal Republic, this impulse was primarily implemented in various forms of co-determination in the manufacturing industry. In addition, there are the practices of cooperatives, self-management, and other forms of collective organization. The changes in companies, the altered conditions of wage labor, the desires for autonomy and forms of subjectification among wage earners, the ecological destruction, as well as the erosion of democracy, all call for a democratic shaping of economic decision-making processes. The contributions summarize experiences and strive to update economic democracy in a meaningful way.
