Over a length of more than 600 kilometers, nearly 20,000 bunkers, tank barriers, and tunnel systems of the Westwall were lined up, constructed from 1936 between Kleve and Weil am Rhein. This book provides information on the efforts made by the Nazi dictatorship to secure the western border of the German Reich and what became of this gigantic fortress line, the remnants of which are now under monument protection.
