Product details

Ernst Klee concludes his trilogy on the "extermination of life unworthy of life" by the Nazis with a volume about the life paths of the perpetrators and accomplices after 1945. He demonstrates how doctors, lawyers, and administrative professionals involved in the "eradication" were able to continue living, some unrecognized and others untroubled. Others found lenient judges or understanding doctors who protected the accused from prosecution with certificates. Klee outlines the escape routes and connections of the perpetrators and provides evidence through individual examples that those involved in Nazi crimes were even employed in law enforcement. He names those who were able to return to administration, ministries, and high positions in the judiciary, who treated patients again or trained medical professionals. Many well-known, but also unknown names appear in the book. It differs from similar works in this regard.
