Mahāmudrā is about natural awareness. One allows the mind to experience the present moment of consciousness naturally and spontaneously, the nature of the now, without expecting or seeking anything else, without wanting to improve or attain anything, and without avoiding or repressing anything. The mind abides in its true nature, unperturbed by what occurs on the surface. The book contains the translation of a teaching song by the 1st Kongtrul Lodrö Thaye, as well as oral explanations provided by the 3rd Kongtrul Rinpoche to his students. In another text by the 1st Kongtrul, the essential aspects of Dharma practice are taught in a condensed form.
