Hans Rosling was the "pop star of reason" (Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin), the master of facts – and throughout his life, a fighter for a better and fairer world. In his autobiography, the Swedish cult author recounts how he gradually overcame his own prejudices and discovered true factfulness. Hans Rosling was internationally known and famous for his fact-based worldview. However, he was not born a Factfulman: growing up in poverty, he initially went to Mozambique as a young doctor. His work in the hospital of the port city of Nacala, as well as his encounters with residents of remote African villages, sparked the impetus for his later actions. Lectures to students in Stockholm, speeches at the World Economic Forum in Davos, friendships with Melinda and Bill Gates, and conversations with revolutionary leader Fidel Castro reinforced his message: We must question our supposed knowledge about the state of the world and turn to the facts – because reality is often much better than we believe.
