For some time now, scientists, journalists, and politicians have been increasingly focused on the topic of artificial intelligence. In science fiction, this is nothing new: whether it's positronics or MechWarriors, a life in cyberspace or virtual reality – for decades, artificial intelligences of various forms have been at the core of science fiction. How does science fiction view this today? Nine stories and one article offer very different perspectives on artificial intelligences: science fiction from German-speaking authors, sometimes grounded on Earth, sometimes in space, sometimes satirical, and sometimes very serious.
