Peter Wechsler (born 1951) grew up in Zurich and now lives in Vienna. He belongs to a generation of non-figurative artists who have explored new, contemplative areas of expression in drawing as a system and sensory event, following in the footsteps of Minimal Art and Conceptual Art since the 1990s. This raises the fundamental question: How can specific spaces and structures be created through a systematic use of drawing techniques that activate and challenge the viewer's sensory perception? In the exhibition "Kleinteilig wächst die Welt zusammen," the cycle of impressive large-format pencil drawings (1994 - 2008) is reconstructed through ten major works. Additionally, for the first time, the Kunsthaus presents a selection of unframed ink brush drawings from recent years.
