The author summarizes the social and economic developments of recent decades in this anthology. Starting with an analysis of the 1968 movement and the critical reception of the concept of social synthesis by Sohn-Rethel, the book culminates in a passionate plea for the project of unconditional basic income, the relevance of which primarily arises from its character as a transitional demand.
