Cycling through Israel is an authentic travel diary. The author starts in Haifa and cycles 1,230 kilometers through the north and south of the Holy Land in two stages of two weeks each. Each day, the reader learns about the experiences, the kilometers traveled, the location and cost of accommodation, as well as the thoughts of the day. For many years, Johannes Reichert has been going on solo bike tours for two weeks each year. After suffering a heart attack in 2007, these trips helped him overcome his illness. From Haifa, the author cycles to Rosh Hanikra at the Lebanese border and continues through the forested mountains in northern Galilee to the biblical sites around the Sea of Galilee. The journey then takes him over Nazareth, Mount Tabor, and the Carmel Mountains to Tel Aviv/Jaffa, the destination of the first stage in 2013. From there, the tour continues in 2014 through Ashkelon, Be'er Sheva, Dimona, Arad, and Masada.
