This new edition of the former club guides Berner Alpen 1 and 2 describes high-altitude tours, alpine climbing routes, and mountain hikes in the western Bernese Alps from the Col du Sanetsch to the Petersgrat. In addition to the classic ascents to well-known peaks such as Wildhorn and Wildstrubel, Balmhorn and Blüemlisalp, the descriptions of routes to lesser-known summits and crossings have also been updated. A total of around 520 routes are described. Map excerpts provide an overview of the area sections divided into 9 chapters. The richly illustrated guide highlights the diversity of the region between the Bernese Oberland and the Valais, through which the Röstigraben, the German-French language border, runs. Additionally, this book includes contributions on geology, flora, and the UNESCO World Heritage site "Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch."
